Many of the Psalms invite us “to sing in the great assembly” and Paul instructs us to “…be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 5:18b-20)
We are asking you, “What song is in your heart?” Is there a song that the congregation can sing with you? We would like to know the heart songs of members at Beckwith Hills CRC. We will be asking members of every age to select one “heart song” that you would like to sing in worship with the congregation. Please take time to think about this request and remember we would like the whole congregation sing your song with/for you in worship. Along with the song, please give us a story, occasion, reason, song relating or quoting scripture, etc. as to why this is a “heart song.” We would like to use your story (you can remain unidentified if you wish) when we sing the song in worship; either in print or spoken verbally as a part of the worship service.
Our goal is to have a selection of heart songs (with a member's story about the song) to use in worship from as many members as possible.
