Weddings at Beckwith Hills Christian Reformed Church |

We are pleased that you are considering using our facility for your wedding. Below are guidelines to consider before hosting your wedding at Beckwith Hills CRC. Please read them so there is no conflict on the day of your wedding.

- Please remember at all times, that the whole building is to be used with reverence and dignity, as it is a place to worship our Lord.
Ceremony
- Weddings must be in accordance with what the Bible teaches concerning a Christian Marriage.
Rehearsal
- Rehearsals are scheduled for one hour on the day prior to the wedding.
- If a conflict arises with the ministries of the church, Beckwith Hills CRC reserves the right to change the time of rehearsal.
- Church will NOT be opened before 5pm for Rehearsals.
Gifts
- Tables are available for the display of wedding gifts.
- The host family assumes full responsibility for the display and removal of gifts.
- (Please let the wedding coordinator know if you need a table set up for this purpose.)
Receptions
- Wedding receptions may be held in the downstairs Fellowship Room, which accommodates 125 people.
- We cannot host receptions on Saturdays or Holiday weekends in consideration of our custodians.
- Receptions must be planned with and served by a catering service approved by the Church in order to use the kitchen facilities.
Application/Reservation
- Weddings must be scheduled with the Wedding Coordinator.
- The reservation is confirmed upon receipt of the down payment (Sanctuary Rental Amount) paid to Beckwith Hills CRC.
- The balance is due 30 days before the wedding.
Responsibility
- The renter is responsible for any damage to, or loss of any church property and of any personal property brought into the building for the wedding.
- Saturday weddings can start no later than 3:30 and everyone must vacate the church by 5:00pm.
- An extra hour may be purchased (payment going to Wedding Coordinator and Janitor) if necessary.
- Weekday weddings, everyone must vacate the church by 11:00pm.
Furniture & Equipment
- Pulpit, chairs and stages may be removed.
- (Please specify before hand what you would like done with the stages.)
- Church and kitchen equipment MUST remain in the church.
Decorations
- The Sanctuary (including the Balcony) will accommodate up to 400 people. There are 18 pews on each side of the center aisle.
- Decorations are limited to those that will avoid marring, scratching, soiling or otherwise damaging the surfaces or fixtures.
- Decorations can ONLY be attached to the pews or wood surfaces by way of masking tape or rubber bands.
- Plastic MUST be placed under all candles to protect the carpet and/or furniture.
- Signs are limited to bulletin board areas or must be placed on easels.
- All decorations must be approved by the wedding coordinator.
- **Decorating MUST be done immediately prior to or following rehearsal, or the day of the wedding.
- (We strongly encourage to decorate the evening of the rehearsal with the exception of florists coming the Wedding Day.)
Handicapped Access
- Wheelchairs can be accommodated on the south ramp entrance and at various areas in the sanctuary.
- Inside the south entrance, there are restrooms equipped for the handicapped.
- An elevator is also available in the south entrance.
Parking
- Handicapped parking is designated.
- Permanent parking under the canopy is prohibited.
Mechanical
- Beckwith Hills CRC has many complex items of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Always consult the Wedding Coordinator or Custodian before using any of this equipment.
Restrictions
- No smoking is allowed inside the facilities.
- No alcoholic beverages, rice, confetti, or birdseed are allowed in or around the church premises.
- Because of fire hazards, and upon the recommendation of the fire marshal, open flame candles, anywhere but in the chancel area, are NOT permitted.
- However, candles enclosed in hurricane lamps are acceptable.
- No glitter allowed within the Church. (Decorations, programs, flowers, etc.)
- No rose petals will be allowed for weddings. If the flower girl will be dropping petals, they must be artificial flower petals and must be cleaned up after the wedding.
The Wedding Day
- For Weekday Weddings, the Church will not be opened before 1pm.
- If there are special circumstances for florists, etc. please discuss this with the Wedding Coordinator to see if something can be done.
- For Saturday weddings, please discuss with the Wedding Coordinator what time you would like the church to be open.
- Please make sure you have someone assigned to pack up your decorations, personal items, etc. and take them with them.
- There is no place to store items at the church so everything must be cleared out the day of the wedding.
